For our April luncheon, JWLA welcomes attorney, former law professor, writer, and philanthropist Kristine Cherek. Kristine is the author or the Amazon bestseller Tread Loudly: Call Out the Bullsh*t and Fight for Equality in the Workplace. Join us as Kristine shares her experiences, insights, and advice derived over her over twenty year career in the legal field. She will share the experiences, inequities, and obstacles she encountered as an associate at a large national law firm, as the general counsel of a national corporation, as a partner of a regional law firm, and as a law professor.  Kristine will also shed light on the biases, inequities, and lack of gender parity that continue to exist, not just in the legal field but in broader corporate America. She will help dispel the myths of “having it all,” “work/life balance,” and the imposter syndrome so many women experience. Kristine will empower and inspire you to dream big, believe in yourself, and boldly pursue your career goals.

This year, JWLA is continuing its efforts of community outreach and giving back to the local community. This luncheon, we will be collecting donations for The Duval County Courthouse comfort area. The comfort area in the courthouse is designed to be a comfortable and friendly safe space for litigants and their children who are waiting for domestic violence injunctions hearings.
