  • the valuable role that FAWL guys can play to not only act as advocates for FAWL members in the legal profession

• Bring a renewed focus on membership issues statewide and at the chapter level now that weare entering our third year of the COVID pandemic
  • Asking membership Director to follow up with membership survey to find out what to people want from FAWL and how COVID related issues are disproportionately affecting women and women in the profession
  • Focus on how to create more diversity in positions on the FAWL Board and in membership at large
    • Encourage more diversity at Executive Committee and Chair level to create adverse pipeline of FAWL leader

This year, JWLA is continuing its efforts of community outreach and giving back to the local community.  For each luncheon, we will spotlight a local charity or other nonprofit organization and will conduct a donation drive, to be collected at that month’s luncheon.  This luncheon, in honor of the 5^th anniversary of the opening of the Duval County Courthouse Nursing Lounge, we will be spotlighting and collecting donations for the Duval, Clay, and Nassau Nursing Lounges.

In coordination with the Duval County Courthouse and with the help of generous monetary and in-kind donations of its members, JWLA designed, decorated, stocked, and opened the Duval County Courthouse Nursing Lounge in November of 2017.  Room 4318 provides a private, safe, and dedicated space for nursing mothers to breastfeed.  JWLA has continued to support the space with pride.  In 2021 JWLA worked with members to create artwork for the space and donated a microwave to the lounge. 

The Clay County Courthouse and Nassau Nursing Lounges are not opened yet, however, our teams are working hard to provide the same level of private, safe, and dedicated space for nursing mothers in Clay and Nassau as we are in Duval. 

The Nursing Lounges are in need of:  

1. 1. Steamer bags for cleaning breast pump parts (all),  
   2. Breastmilk storage bags (all),   
   3. Nursing pads (all), 
   4. Breast pump sanitize spray (all),  
   5. Dish soap (all), 
   6. Nursing shields (provides privacy for nursing mother and child) (all), 
   7. Tables (Clay County), 
   8. Chairs (Clay County),  and
   9. Lamps (Clay County).
