Hi JWLA members!

We are excited to announce that JWLA, once again, will be participating in Freed to Run!

Join us as we support Jacksonville Area Legal Aid. Their latest initiative, Shelter for Elders, is aimed at transforming the lives of indigent seniors in our community by enabling them to age gracefully and securely in their cherished Northeast Florida homes. As we commit to walking and contributing donations for our laps, we will support JALA’s work to prevent and address housing issues such as reverse mortgage foreclosures, door-to-door scams, wrongful evictions, substandard living conditions, discriminatory practices, and other shelter-related challenges faced by vulnerable seniors.

Our goal is to raise $2,500.00 as a team. Let's do this!

This year’s format is a little different. We will participate in a 12 hour Challenge on Saturday, November 18 that starts at 5am and ends at 5pm. The relay takes place around the Duval County Courthouse. Each loop is 1/2 mile.

We can adopt our own preferred pace, whether running, walking, or crawling. Multiple team members can run, walk, or crawl together, but only one lap is counted. Lap counters will be on the course to count our laps. 

You can even take breaks and re-join the course because our team will be provided with a 10'x10' canopy, serving as our pit-stop throughout the entire challenge.
