Wellness Hour Alert! Are you looking for a way to unwind after a long day at work? Have you been looking for ways to get outside and get active? Are you ready to learn how to play pickleball or enhance your pickleball skills?

We invite you to join us on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. as we meet up at the San Jose Country Club for a fun and exciting time of pickleball with Judge Michelle Kalil and Special Guest Karin Ptaszek-Kochis. What is pickleball? Pickleball is a racket or paddle sport in which two or four players hit a perforated, hollow plastic ball with paddles over a 34-inch-high net until one side is unable to return the ball or commits an infraction. 

How much will this event cost? No cost to JWLA members.

What do you need to wear? Comfortable athletic wear.

What do you need to bring? A smile and fun spirit.

About Karin Ptaszek-Kochis:

Ms. Ptaszek-Kochis has helped teach several Pickleball Clinics to our local judges and lawyers in Jacksonville!  As a former Top 300 Tennis Player, pickleball has come rather easily to her in a short period of time.  Everyone can have fun with this easy to pick up game and yet improve if they want. Ms. Ptaszek-Kochis currently plays on the Senior Pro Tour, which is for players 50 and Over.  Her best singles result was winning the Senior Pro Singles Event at the APP NYC event taking place at the US Open Site!  More recently she took Silver in the APP Atlanta event playing right next to the "Real" Pro Players you see on TV when aired. She is currently ranked #1 in Senior Pro Singles on the DUPR Rankings.
